San Anselmo parties are often a dozen kids from the same class, a tight backyard, and a host who is also a parent.
That is a hard setup to supervise casually. Children move in and out of the water, siblings of different ages share the same pool, and the host is expected to run food, gifts, and drop-off. A certified lifeguard’s job is the water zone so the host can stay with the rest of the party.

On the quote, tell us whether this is a weekend birthday, a family afternoon, or something else, along with ages and a swimmer count. After-school energy and a packed Saturday party are different rooms; both still need a calm, safety-first plan. We recommend staffing after looking at ability, pool features, and conditions.

Parents still watch kids outside the water
A lifeguard at a kids’ birthday does not replace guardians on the patio, the bathroom trip, or the snack table.
This is the question San Anselmo parents ask most, and the answer is the same as on our FAQ: yes, you still need to watch your children. We supervise the water. Parents and guardians remain responsible outside it, and for overall party conditions.
