Pool party lifeguards for Fairfax hillside homes

Deer Park, the Manor, and Cascade Canyon sit above a small downtown on Broadway and Bolinas Road. When the pool is the level part of a steep lot, someone still has to run the party.

A lifeguard watches from a stand as three children jump into a hillside pool.

Terraces above a walkable downtown

Fairfax houses often climb the hill. A pool, when a home has one, is usually a terrace against oaks rather than a wide lawn.

Guests leave cars on narrow streets and walk up to the deck. Classmates and cousins share one small pool while the host is at the grill a level away. That layout is ordinary from the Manor across to Cascade Canyon, and it is a hard one to supervise by glancing over a railing. A certified lifeguard stays with the water so the person throwing the party can move between the kitchen and the deck.

Sir Francis Drake Boulevard runs through town. East, it continues into San Anselmo. West, it climbs the ridge toward Woodacre and the San Geronimo Valley. We look at the actual Fairfax property during review — stairs, a tight deck, a gate at the bottom of the drive — before we say the address is a fit.

What to include with a Fairfax request

Hillside access changes arrival. Ages and swimming ability still decide how many lifeguards we suggest.

Use the quote form for the date, which part of Fairfax the pool is in, and who will swim. Deer Park and Manor streets can mean a long stair run. Say so. We read ages, ability, the shape of the pool, and the rest of the gathering, then suggest staffing.

A Fairfax date is held only after acceptance, a signed agreement, and finished booking requirements. Arrival starts with a look at the pool area, then supervision of the water for the hours you booked. The full order is on How it works.

The terrace is the water zone

Kids leave the pool for snacks, the bathroom, and the stairs back to the house. Those trips stay with parents.

Safety standards are the split we use in Fairfax: lifeguards on the water, guardians everywhere else. The guards we schedule keep current lifeguard training together with CPR, First Aid, and AED. Phones stay pocketed while they are guarding. They may halt swimming if weather, crowding, or behavior makes the water unsafe, and they bring a rescue tube and a first-aid kit to the deck.

This is not swim instruction and it is not childcare. The pool party safety guide is the longer note on children’s birthdays, including why there is no single fixed number of lifeguards. Get a quote for the Fairfax date and add the stair or gate notes.

Down the valley and over the ridge

San Anselmo is the next town east on Sir Francis Drake. The San Geronimo Valley starts west of the ridge. Ross is a short drive beyond San Anselmo.
